How do you eradicate ticks? Pet cat's ticks been biting me.?

Ticks all over the house now after pet cat has been infested. I sought medical advise already but the root cause has to be dealth with. Ticks have to be totally eradicated and I'm totally clueless (and desperate) as to how to do that... Apparently, I am the most sensitive to tick bites in the household as other members are not affected at all.

1. The only thing you can do is remove all living (animals & people) from house and set a flea bomb off . Read the directions on can to know how many you will need . Drop pets off at vet to be bathed and dipped while you are bombing the house. Be sure to wipe counters and tables after you bomb or anything you would come in contact with to eat on .
2. Ticks are tough, highly specialized parasites, difficult to remove and hard to kill. Many products for tick control are available. None of them are completely satisfactory. All of them are potentially toxic to humans and the environment. These sites will give you more information.
