How to get rid of domestic ants without harming my cat's health?
They cover my cat's food if it's on the floor longer than 10 minutes, and I'm afraid they will start climbing on the kitchen table... how can I get rid of them without risking my cat's health? I'll try the baby powder, but I won't be able to get that Earth thing because I live in Serbia... I'll look for Raid and those boxed poisons...

- Very easy solution I found in an AARP Newsletter.Sprinkle baby power around the baseboards and this will stop your problem.I have six indoor cats and use only natural treatments. I used this last summer and the ants were gone after one sprinkling.
- Sprinkle diatomaceous earth where the ants are coming in. It's just ground up seashells so it's non-toxic. It's effective for killing ants and much more. http://www.dirtworks.net/Diatomaceous-Earth.html
- If the "baby powder" does not work, you can pick up little disk or square shaped plastic or metal container, they are about the size of a half dollar or a square half dollar, inside the container is a pesticide that will kill the ants, but I woud not set it next to the cat dish, the ants have to be coming in somewhere and most likely multiple places in the home. If you have ants in one room you have them in others, the ant traps come with more than one container. Put them where ever you see the ants, most likely areas are the kitchen, bathroom, and any place you eat or have food. You also might want to check your food before you eat it, food such as crackers, chips, sugar or soda. Don't forget to check under your house if you have a crawl space, and under your sink in the kitchen and bathroom . Try the website some of the "procudures seem strange," some not so strange. Good luck on the war with the "army."
- Try corn meal, the ants will eat it and take it to their home. Ants can digest corn meal, so they will die off. And most cat/dog food has corn meal. Corn meal will not harm your cat and will get rid of your ants
