Cat Information

good place to find cats for sale?

i tried my shelter however they wouldnt adopt out to me because im a college student (even if i own and live on my own property) i have a dog (who despite being an "akita" and thus a threat in their eyes, is good with cats) and i intend to let the cat come in and out. so are their any search engines or things i can look up classifieds in it with cats for sale or adoption? i dont have my car available right now so i have to have my relative drive me so im not going to go to the other shelter which is 2 hours away .

  1. look on the internet thats where I got both my cats from a website called pets at home (I live in the UK)
  2. craigslist. You wouldnt believe what theyre got on their. Ive seen MONKEYS for sale on there. Most of their kitten or cats for sale are actually free, so yeah. Craigslist all the way.
  3. There are many pet adoption places out there. Just put in the search engine Feline Adoptions in (whatever place you are located) and it should pop some up. You can also look for specific breed adoptions through CFA and TICA. Another idea, is to check with breeders and see if they have any older cats (and once in awhile kittens) that need homes and come with their registration and health records. Good Luck! (in school too, interesting work you are studying for!)
  4. Try craigslist and other classified ads. I'm a fan of the good old fashioned DSH or DLH..it's spring, so there are a lot of litters being born, and you should have a lot to choose from.
  5. Craigslist he he. Also pennysaver :) I read your question earlier and agree that shelter is rude.
  6. I adopted my kitten from a pet store which operated through a non-shelter cat adoption agency. I'd say check your local PetSmart or Petco, and check the newspaper for cat adoptions. Also, ask around: chances are, someone you know knows someone whose cat is having kittens. I hope you find the kitty you're looking for (although be careful with letting them in and out. The lifespan for outdoor cats is much shorter than indoor cats).
  7. With people giving away cats left and right, I don't see how you can not find a cat. My neighbor has three I will box up and send to you.
  8. You should search craigslist. There are alot of different cats that are to be given away or for sale. They have alot of different pets.
  9. Craigslist, Kijiji or the paper/nickel add. Good luck! Hope u adopt a kitty in need. To bad about the shelter some of the rules are just to much for me.
