Cat Information

Does anyone know a good cat litter that clumps well?

We moved recently and now keep the litter box in the laundry room. Still using the same litter (Tidy Cats with Tidy Lock, or something) but, with the room being somewhat humid, the clumps fall apart when I try to scoop them. We only have one cat, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

  1. I've found I like best the walmart brand special kitty clumping in the brown bag, it's got crystals in it for smell and I find it works great. I think it's 7 bucks for 20 #'s. I've tried the tidy cat and find this just as comparable and works just as well, just saves me some green:)
  2. I've never used anything other than Special Kitty scoopable cat litter. Everything clumps, and I've never had a problem.
  3. we've tried so many different cat litters with exactly the same aim as you....CATSAN is the best by far....when we had two cats it worked brilliantly and now with only one cat it still has the same effect. It clumps very well and even when we empty on a very regular basis, it never falls apart. It costs very little and most pet shops sell it, if not the major supermarkets always have a good supply.
  4. Because I have 2 cats, I use Arm and Hammer's Multi-cat Strength litter and found that it clumps very well. So maybe you want to look into Arm and Hammer's Super Scoop, that works very well also but not with odors as I found. I know it is a bit expensive but well worth it since it lasts longer than the ones that does not clump.
  5. Scooping urine is for suckers. Use wood pellets with a sifting litter box, and you will never need to scoop urine again. You also won't need to perform litter changes, clean a nasty litter box, or sweep up litter that has been tracked on your floors. And you'll save a lot of money on litter (I spend $0.50/month). Wood pellets are also flushable and are much friendlier to the environment than clay litter. http://www.pelletheat.org/3/residential/fuelAvailability.cfm http://www.felinepinelitterbox.com/
  6. I use fresh step. i buy the 40lb from Sam's club for $14. Clumps like a charm!!
  7. I have 9 cats and I have litter boxes in the laundry room, utility room, and garage. I use Purina Maxx Multi Cat Clumping litter. works great, and keeps the smell away!
