- no - the rabbit would eat it. it's toxic, i think.
- Yes, it would most likely be fine but I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone.
- yes but only a small amount use the odurless ones so that it wont upset the rqabbit the absorbency will help with the urine and makes cleaning up better!
- NO - the rabbit will eat it and die. Clean the cage every day and it will not smell.
- rabbits are a lot like cats, during the war they used to skin cats and sell them as rabbits, they look so alike when skinned,. an thier a lot alike when it comes to been clean, they can be trained to use a litter tray, so yes, you can use cat litter for rabbits
- i wouldnt do that incase the rabbit eats it...use wood shavings and hay
- I used to have a house rabbit which used a litter tray with cat litter in and it never did him any harm so I would imagine it would be ok to use in a hutch. I'd put some paper under it though so it's easier to clean up or it would end up sticking to the floor of the hutch
- yes you can but only wood litter pellet and make sure it isnt a clumping litter
- NOOOOOO!!!! The clay cat litter is dusty and when inhaled by rabbits causes lung and liver damage and death. Do not use!! Also, do NOT use pine or especially cedar shavings!!! These contain toxins that also cause liver damage. Aspen is better, but still not good. Bedding is not necessary in a rabbit cage or litter box. For the litter box just line it with newspaper, and a rabbit safe litter like Yesterdays News, and throw some hay on top to encourage them to use the litter box. - No, when your rabbit eats the clumping kind it will swell inside its stomach and kill it. Use wood-shavings (not pine or ceder) or Carefresh; both are fine for small animals although I find Carefresh better.
- well litter is still litter...once they start getting used to what they used to do they'll get the hang of it
- Woodchips are far better for your rabbit.
- you can you wood based litter, but to be truthful its easier and cheaper to buy wood shavings. You will only prevent the smell if you clean the wet patches daily. It doesn't take long, I have 14 rabbits and it only takes me about 30 mins.
- I wouldnt use 'normal' cat litter. however 100% paper cat litter would be fine to use.
