What kind of cat litter works best in the littermaid?

I have a littermaid, and it worked great with fresh step premium cat litter UNTIL they decided to make a "NEW" formula which adds CARBON. The carbon litter does not clump properly. Instead, you're left with a sticky goo that clings to the rake on the littermaid, making it impossible to clean on practially a daily basis. So now I ask. What else can I use?

  1. Try Arm N Hammer - it's a super strong clumping litter. It's a bit dusty, though, but that is par for the course as the dust makes it clump! The World's Best Litter might also be worth a try. It's an all natural corn-based litter which clumps amazingly. And it's safe for you cat even if it is swallowed. http://www.worldsbestcatlitter.com/
  2. We use Arm and Hammer Multi-cat and it works in both of mine- I have an older model and an new one. good luck.
