Cat Information

cat litter?

I am having my two cats delivered to my home after 6 months in Quarantine. My apartment isnt that big but consists of one bedroom, hall, living room, kitchen and bathroom. I am wondering where to keep the cat litter trays as i dont want them in my kitchen, living area or bedroom. Where do you keep your cat litter tray? Thank you cats were in quarantine because they came from Turkey to the UK.

  1. In the den...Why were they in quarantine? Edit....oh....long trip for a cat. They must be very special!
  2. What room do you use the toilet in?
  3. You can keep them in the bathroom or on the bottom of a closet off the hall if you have one. I use our "cat room" for this. It's a room designated only for the cats. Food is served and prepared there. Liter boxes are near the heater. Dry food stays in there. As well as storage for our cleaning supplies, canned goods, and hardware stuff I don't want to keep in the basement. There's a few cat beds in there and some scratching posts too. Everything a happy cat needs! LOL
  4. Tucked in a corner of the hallway.
  5. u could try the bathroom but just make sure to keep them clean really clean
  6. I would think the bathroom is the best place, that's where my daughter keeps hers.
  7. I have an enclosed back porch that works fine but before that I kept the box in the bathroom. It makes it easy to scoop and dispose of with the toilet right there. The kitchen really isn't a good place, I've tried that too.
  8. I keep mine in my laundry room with the door slightly cracked. Just enough for the cats to come and go as they please. It also cuts down on the smell. If you don't have one I'd suggest bathroom or whatever room you DON'T spend a lot of time in.
  9. Near the toilet is a good place, or you could start toilet training them. It is a fairly simple process which is done with a litter pan place into the toilet then removing it later. If you can't manage the toilet training, then of course, just putting them by the toilet will be fine. If it is the odour you are trying to hide, a good holistic cat litter might be a good option. There are also good litter pans that are designed to look like part of the decor.
  10. If the bathroom is big enough, put it there. Otherwise, you're either stuck sleeping next to it or eating next to it.
  11. I know what it is like living with two male cats in a tiny appartment. I was going crazy with the smell (unfortunately this can be difficult to control - even when you clean the litter thrays every day) I have two enclosed litter boxes (which minimise smell) both in the laundry. It's kind of nice in there because the washing smells seem to freshen up the laundry smell too. Finding the right litter is also important because it impacts on the level of frustration. I've found that the best litter for me (and least smelly) is either the recycled pellet variety or you can get heater pellets which contain natural eucalyptus oils. This helps deal with smells as well.
  12. If a cat litters, it should pay a fine like everyone else !
  13. I would suggest keeping them in the bathroom. That is the easiest spot. Because you can just scoop the poop and flush it. I would also suggest getting a litter mat so they cant track the litter around the house and using fresh step clay litter (non scoopable). Good Luck
  14. I bought the expensive ones that have a cover, door, and odor filter. I also live in a small apartment. The bathroom is a good place or behind something in a corner they can get to.
