  1. The throwing up concerns me, because he could become dehydrated. If he was mine, I would definitely take him in. The sooner the better!!
  2. You can make sure he is drinking water. As long as he is hydrated he'll be fine. Go to Petco/Petsmart and get Nutri-cal. It comes in a toothpaste like tube and cost about $7. Follow the instructions on the tube. This paste has all the nutrients an animal needs when it won't eat or loosing nutrients due to diahrrea and/or vomiting. Besides the Nutrical, get a turkey baster and get some water and force your cat to drink water.
  3. If he is throwing up after eating and drinking, I wouldn't wait to take him to the vet's office because dehydration is more likely to occur. If he is able to hold water down, then take away all food and just allow him to have water and monitor overnight. By removing food (even nutrical or other supplements), you can help decrease the vomiting and thus slow the occurance of dehydration if he is still drinking. Of course all of this is contingent on how he looks to you now. If he is very lethargic already and dehydrated then a vet visit right now would be a good idea. If he is alert and active still and not dehydrated at this point and can hold down water then waiting until the morning shouldn't be a problem. Just remember that advice here is given by people who really can't know what shape your cat is in. You have to make the decision based upon what you see occuring.
