How often should recycled newspaper cat litter be changed?

I mix it up, clean out the poop every day, how often should it be totally changed. I have one desexed male cat. He is 8. I have previously used crystal litter but am trying something different because I was told that cats don't like the crystal litter and changing it might stop him pooping outside the box. Thanks. Everytime I clean the whole box I sanitise it and disinfect it.

1. the recycled newspaper cat litter basically absorbs the urine and will make the litter box unbearable to the cats sensitive nose. It's a good idea to completely change the cat litter, regardless of what you use, once a week plus a proper cleaning job of the container.
2. every day. would you want to go to the bathroom in a smelly urine infested box?

4. We clean ours everyday and we have 2 male cats. Sometimes the little fat bugger misses, but we just pick it up and dispose of it. Maybe catch him in the act and squirt him with a shot of your own urine will get him to know better. just sayin....
5. Why are you trying to limit him? Why cant he poop outside the box?! I think your holding back his potential! You need to back off and let him poop outside the box from now on! You have no one to blame but yourself for him going nowhere else in life! I hope your proud!
