How do I keep cat litter from getting all over my apartment?
Cat litter is getting stuck in my cat's paws and he's tracking it ALL OVER my apartment. We have one those littler mats but it barely helps. The best solution we found so far was a very large pebble litter but it was discontinued. Any product suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks friends!

- mabie you should let the cat go out to poo and pee
- You could try Yesterday's news cat litter. Its softer and tends not to stick to little paws as much as the clay clumping litter.
- I don;t know the names offhand, but there are a lot of litters that are "low tracking". However, there's no product I know of that will eliminate this completely. I have heard that the crystals (litters that are all a clear crystal material) are much less of a problem then traditional litter. But its also more expensive.
- I put my box in the bathroom. When coming out I put a mat you can purchase at the pet store outside the door and it clings the stuff you miss in the bathroom. I have about 50 percent less litter around the house if any before the mat. It works very well. The trick is you have to try to keep the bathroom swept with a mini dustpan and keep the box level and clean.
- the carpet that comes with it is a very tight weave, which is silly. I added another one, of a different, looser weave, and they barelky track any around at all now.
- Use one of the very large plastic storage boxes for the litter. They are about 28 or 30 inches long, 20 inches wide and 10 or 12 inches tall. The litter usually stays inside these much easier than a short, little litter box. Then, put a rug underneath the box. It helps keep the cat from scratching on the walls, too.
