  1. Allergies.
  2. They are filthy predators that cary all manor or diseases.
  3. Not that I'm aware of, unless it's a wild cat with rabies or fleas or ticks or something. If he's up-to-date with his shots, etc., you should be good. :)
  4. there are some zoonotic diseases you can catch from animals. All pets can be carriers of zoonotic issues. Your vet is aware of all of them, and can check your cat over to see that it is in good health, and if not can give you appropriate care to help your kitty get well and will give you precautions to take to keep from getting it. However, these issues are not overly common.
  5. Yes Wash Your Hands
  6. yes! Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease caused by the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii.[1] The parasite infects most genera of warm-blooded animals, including humans, but the primary host is the felid (cat) family. Animals are infected by eating infected meat, by ingestion of feces of a cat that has itself recently been infected, or by transmission from mother to fetus. Cats have been shown as a major reservoir of this infection.[2] Cat scratch disease (CSD) is a usually benign infectious disease caused by the intracellular bacterium Bartonella. It is most commonly found in children 1-2 weeks following a cat scratch or bite.
  7. There are many diseases you can catch from your pet moggie, they are called Zoonoses, but you're more likely to catch diseases from your human friends. To cut down the risk just follow simple hygiene like washing your hands after playing with your pet.
