Cat Information

What do you do if your pet cat eats your pet rodent?

Do you look sorrowfully at your cat and refuse to give it treats for the next year? Or, do you laugh it off and pet the poor kitty who was just following his or her own nature, which is to kill and eat mice and rats and small birds? I do wonder about this.

  1. its what they its called the circle of life my friend dont go mad at it its just doin its job
  2. It is up to you. You dont have to laugh though.
  3. definitly don't do either. it's the cat's instinct. you mourn your pet rodent I suppose.
  4. i would laugh about it. nothing you can do about it now. i would not ban it from treats, cause it wouldn't know why he is being punished. all he thought of it was "mmm, dinner." lol
  5. There is really nothing you can do. Obviously you don't want to get another rodent as long as you have the cat. Like you said, it was following it's natural instinct so you can't punish it.
  6. Like the others have said: You don't need to laugh about it. You probably shouldn't be mad at your cat. I suppose it was only doing what the regular cat thing. That's nature for you. If you decide to have another rodent pet you should be more careful. But then again it's your choice.
  7. You get a Capybara ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capybara ) to throw a scare into your cat so it will at least think twice about attacking a rodent. You can teach a cat to not attack rodents but it take a lot. I wouldn't laugh about it. It -would- be funny to have a Capybara teach the cat a lesson about respecting rodents though!
