Cat Information

Does anyone know of any good dried and/or 'wet' cat food for sale in the UK, that is not tested on animals?

I am looking for a good quality cat food that someone can recommend, preferably food that can be ordered online or from a store in and around Croydon. thanks Mindy - but I did say the UK, not the US! Ha - ha! Yes - to those who spotted the deliberate mistake! Yes I don't mind if cats have taste-tested the food in a natural way - but I do not want to buy any food that has been inhumanely tested on cats in laboratory situations, that are cruel. I hope this makes sense now. Iams use inhumane and cruel laboratory testing, so I do not want to use them any more.

3. Thats what I was trying to figure out. How can it NOT be tested on animals if its FOR animals. That makes no sense whatsoever. How do they know if the cats will even eat it if they don't let them try it first. Did your fingers move faster than your brain?

6. I don't know of any foods in the UK which has been tested like IAMs and eukanuba. I used to do taste testing with my pets because I have so many cats and dogs, they would send me a batch of whatever and I had to record if they liked it or not. James Welbeloved is a very good make of dry cat food with added cranberry to help guard against urinary tract problems, and as for wet food, whichever your cat likes best. Mine love kitekat and arthurs, with ASDA cat food a close second. JAded ruby, did you not know about the testing Iams does on cats? Causing kidney damage to cats in laboratories to see how they react to their kidney diet etc? Try looking at some websites which explain this and understand why thousands of cat owners refuse to feed iams.
7. Umm...a cat food HAS to be tested on cats. This isn't like perfume or medication where it involves injecting or inhumane treatment of an animal. I think your intentions are good...but information may be bad. The testing they do for cat foods is in no way related to the "not tested on labratory animals" you'd find on the back of hairspray. "Testin" simply involves taste testing....and who else would you test to see if cat food is palatable? I don't know of ANY food brand that hurts animals in any way.....most companies including ,Royal Canin, take extensive measure to make their food good for the cat....including the size and shape of the kibbles to better adapt to certain breeds.
