  1. No, its not haram ~!
  2. -If it were dogs, it would more likely be haram, because dogs are specifically forbidden unless for essential purposes, because dogs carry even more disease (eg. rabbies) than cats. An angel will never visit a house with a dog inside it (hadith). -Cats are not haram because they are not forbidden in the hadiths, even though cats spread disease because they eat and even play with things like eat rats and reptiles. However Mohammed cut off a part of clothing to let a cat continue to sleep, but maybe it was outside and he washed the cloth immediately to purify the material. Common sense says income derived from the sale of any animals would be haram because all animals are unclean, however animals sold to be used for essential purposes like camels for transport is not haram even though it breaks the rule of hygene and cleanliness... the reason dogs are considered haram in the first place. For this reason, caution would be to avoid contact and business with all animals unless absolutely necessary.
  3. It is not haram.
  4. According to a Saheeh Hadeeth it is : From Abu’l-Zubayr who said: “I asked Jaabir about the price of a dog or a cat. He said, ‘The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade that.”
