Cat Information

What health risks might a healthy cat pose to a healthy person?

Of course, we all try to practice good hygiene, but there are always times when my cat reaches out and licks my lips unexpectedly just after he's been licking his butt, or when I'm not sure if he's eaten something off my dinner plate when I had my back turned. How worried and how careful should we be? Oh I'm not phobic, just wondering.

  1. I've never heard of anyone getting sick from a healthy cat to be honest! Only thing I would say is that if there's a pregnant person in the household they should avoid the cat litter.
  2. I've aten off my cats before. Soap, tuna salad, etc. they'll be sitting nea by and sneak a bite when I'm not paying attention. Eventually I cach on though lol I wouldn't worr. This has happened me since I was little and I've never caught anything.
  3. there should be no problems with kitty kisses, and all that fun stuff. you are being a little too phobic right now with it.
  4. cats carry a disease calleed tyxoplasmosis (probably not correct spelling!!) that is spread through contact with infected cat poo... i think it can attack the brain of immune deficient people and is dangerous to unborn babies.. but if your healthy it shouldnt do much
  5. I would call your vets office and ask them. I bet they would have a good answer.
  6. im try to find article related to this issue at here http://www.skinback.com its help me much
