Can cat poop affect my health?

Unfortunately i live in a neighborhood where ALOT of stray cats wander around. And the worse thing is they poop everywhere near my house and my neighbor's. I do try to chase them away before they can do it but unfortunately i cant keep track of it all the time. Now it reeks every where i go in my side of the neighborhood. Is the smell going to affect my health in any way?

  1. no shouldn't affect your health. maybe contact animal control.
  2. Unless you're pregnant, no. I don't remeber why, but no. It stinks like nobody's business. but if you're smelling that ammonia smell it's normal.
  3. No
  4. No, smell won't affect anything other than offending the scent receptors in your nose. EATING the stuff may cause a problem, but if you're not in the habit of picking it up with your bare hands, you're safe. I find that fewer cats poop in the grass if it's cut short. This won't stop the raccoons or possums, but cats like taller grass. If you put out a bowl of water, they won't poop near it, so that's always something to consider if you want to move them away from an area.
