How do enzyme levels affect a cat's health? can high enzyme levels keep a cat from getting spayed?

Please give websites and examples thanks.

  1. Well, with elevated kidney enzymes we will often change our anesethesia protocol for cats. For example, our feline patients get an injection of ketamine and valium to induce anesthesia, then they are intubated and put on gas anesthesia. If the cat has elevated kidney enzymes, they don't get the injection--we just "box them down," which means they go into a small anesthesia chamber and we fill it up with anesthesia until they go to sleep. It is much more stressful for the cat, which is why we prefer to use a ket/val injection instead. Other than that, I'm not sure what specific enzymes you're talking about, so I'm not sure how else to answer that question.
